Friday

Washington DC

We spent the day in DC. We went to a couple amazing museums.

A waterful...
This is a tunnel that connects two museums.

We love going to the Art Sculpture Garden...

It wasn't that cold.

Rach fits in as well as can be expected considering she does have a head.

"Wow! It really is BIG"

We're cool...

The hot chocolate really warmed us up.

It was good!

Tuesday

It's Over!

I just finished my last final 20 minutes ago and I must say that I am extremely happy. No more school until next year. I have finished my first semester of college... Wow! My holiday season can now start. I'm leaving the small town of Buena Vista tomorrow and then on Saturday I'll be flying home. Life is good.

No more of this (trying to study in the van while I go to tennis matches) until next year!
Looks like I'm having fun, huh?

Sunday

.......

This is our tennis team

This is us after we won a tournament in September. We are the two on the right.

We are very excited for our spring season! Even though the weather is going to be extremely cold and perhaps a little miserable.

Friday

7 days.....

playing tennis outside in december is very strange.... not having any snow makes it feel like october but it's not..... let me just get that out.
last week we had to give a presentation in our spanish class (in spanish!) and we both did ours on our family. and surprise! i actually enjoyed giving the presentation. i used about 4 pictures for isaac (including the one above) and a couple of the entire family. i miss isaac so much and cannot wait to see him.

finals..... well, i can't say i enjoy all the studying i have been doing and will continue to do this weekend. philosophy isn't my favorite and i am slowly cramming it into my head. i have loved my first semester of college, which is a good thing since i have so many more that are yet to come.

christmas is approaching so quickly and that makes me very happy.

Wednesday

yes...

We have 7 days until we leave SVU and 10 days until our flight home!

We aren't excited or anything...

Tuesday

Yes!

This is what we get to go home to and we are extremely excited!

Saturday

It's almost here!

By that we mean Christmas..... and seeing our family..... and ice skating & sledding..... and seeing our friends in Utah...... and the end of our first semester of college

so.... this is our snow flake wall of wonder.... it is extremely weird but we had fun making it!
two more weeks until we go home and we cannot wait. we also cannot wait for Christmas and all that comes with it. cookies, hot chocolate, and Christmas stories around a huge fire on a snowy night....
what is better than that?
another reason we are excited to go home:
no cafeteria food! that could possibly be the best thing in the world. our mother in the best cook ever and we cannot wait to eat her delicious food once we are home.

Monday

Wow! The first semester of college is almost over! Which means, I will get to go home very soon and I can't wait. But first, the serious stuff: getting through finals. I am a little nervous! But hopefully it will be okay and maybe somewhat enjoyable.

My family in New York City for my sister's graduation, May 2008.

At the moment, it seems nearly impossible to find positive things around me. Which is stupid because there are so many amazing things taking place every second of everyday. I need to just try to focus on the good things and forget about the others.
Here is a positive thought: Christmas! I love the Christmas season, the Christmas lights/trees, the Christmas spirit, and the Christmas cookies! I can't wait to make dozens and dozens of them when I get home. Just the thought makes me happy!

Sunday

... Pictures from Thanksgiving!

We went to the Lincoln Memorial. It's one of our favorites.

All pictures taken by Naomi.

Thanksgiving Break

Naomi and Josh let us go Christmas shopping with them. They also let us help decorate their tree since we won't be home to decorate ours. We love Christmas!

After we found the perfect tree, we got to carry it back. Fun!

We had an awesome Thanksgiving! Our sister, Naomi, lives in DC with her husband, Josh. We were able to stay with them over the break. We had so much fun! We watched movies, played games and ate delicious food. We were also able to go to the Washington DC temple on Friday. It was so pretty!

We only have three more weeks of school. Crazy! We're so excited to go home and celebrate Christmas.

But first we have to get through finals...

Monday

Life is GOOD

Picture taken at my sisters wedding two and half years ago. L to R: Isaac, Hannah, mom, Naomi, Josh, Dad and then us.

There are many things I am thankful for, and this list could be endless. But I will only mention a few. Here they are:

  1. My family. Moving away to college has really opened my eyes to how important family is. They have been there for me through everything, and still offer so much support. Each phone call, email or text means so much. I often take my parents, sisters, and brother for granted.
  2. My college experience. So maybe I am still in my first semester of my freshman year, but I have already learned so much already. In the past few months I have learned so much about myself and life in general. College has not been easy and I have had plenty of horrible days. Besides that, though, it has been a blast.
  3. Friends. I have met some great people while at college. They are hilarious, smart, very nice/great people. But of course, I cannot forget about the friends I have back in Utah. I miss all of them so much and can't wait to see them at Christmas
  4. My sisters. I know that they fit into the 'family' category too, but they deserve their own. What would I do without them? I have no idea. I am especially thankful for my twin. I am so lucky to have one and should not take it for granted. We know each other so well and have so much fun together.

It's Not Fun. Don't Do It.

So last night I decided to watch the Iron Chef. Not a good idea. All I want to eat now is Japanese food (or good food for that matter). All of the food looked sooo good. Pretty sure sushi sounds amazing.

Thank goodness Thanksgiving is only a couple weeks away. I'm so excited to eat food that isn't from a cafeteria. It's going to be awesome!

Sunday

ahh!

We missed the first snow fall!

Thursday

Happy Birthday

Happy birthday dad! We love you so much. We are so grateful for all that you have done for us. You are the coolest dad ever. We love going camping and just hanging out with you. We are so blessed to have a dad like you. We could never ask for a better one;)
We love you!

Tuesday

Temple Trip

Today we went to the Washington DC temple with our school (Southern Virgina University). Our parents were married there 24 years ago which means it holds a special meaning in our hearts (lame comment. don't judge).

We love you mom and dad!

Monday

a very fun fall break in georgia

There was a 3D movie. It was cool even though we got wet and poked in the back.

Go Utah.

Shelly! (beks roomie)
These pictures are from the world of coke in Atlanta, Ga. The world of coke is the coolest place ever.
