So Much Easier

We have an astronomy test tomorrow so we've been studying. There is list of astronomers we are suppose to know. We have been coming up with key names that will help us remember them and what they did. Here's two of them. Be warned: these make perfect sense to us.

Eratosthenes... ratatouille. Eratosthenes was known for measurements. The right measurements are useful when you're cooking so ratatouille is perfect. And they both have the word rat in them.

Hipparchus. We think of a hippo wearing a cone hat decorated with stars. Hipparchus was known for the 1st star chart and precession (axis makes cone). it makes sense, no?

i miss our dog.

This month has gone by pretty fast... thankgoodness.

Things to look forward to in Feburary: Isaac's birthday (12 years. wow!), t&s concert!, midterms, and first tennis match. It's going to be fun ;)

Things that made January good: beginning of the new year and semester. We're sure there are other good things but nothing is coming to mind. Interesting.... Gotta love January.

Here are a few things I have learned this week:

1. The more I work out, the more I WANT to work out


2. Nothing beats bonding with friends over pizza and cookies while watching the Australian Open


3. I love my family so much. The constant calls, texts, and emails are greatly appreciated


4. I wish I had more time to read books unrelated to my college classes


5. Roger Federer is so graceful and makes tennis look way too easy


6. I want to go to Ireland (and everywhere else in the world)


7. Everyday is another chance to try to correct our mistakes and become better people


8. I am very blessed

These are just a few.... Of course I learned things in my classes.....

Oh the Joy of Life.

This is what we want to be doing right now...

We want to be exploring, hiking and spending time surrounded with nature.
We're not able to go this moment, but that's what summer's for... (Hopefully ;)

Here's to hoping the semester goes by kind of fast. Not too fast, but we don't want it to drag. We have a feeling that once we begin traveling for tennis, things will begin to pick up.

On Wednesday in Art History, our professor was talking about how wonderful Florence is. Here's a funny quote she said..."I wish I could be like Scotty and beam you all to Florence." When she said this, we both looked at each other and laughed. Go Star Trek! jk haha.

And we would just like to say we have both fallen in love with working out. It gets more fun the more we do it. It's good news, eh?

Looking at the Good Things

I would just like to say how much I love my family. My parents are pretty must the best ever. My dad has always worked extremely hard to support my family. He is always there to cheer me up when I'm having a bad day. My mom has always been there for me. She has helped me the last couple of days as I have struggled through some things. I look forward to talking to her on the phone. I miss and love my parents so much!

I have two of the best older sisters in the world. They are the greatest examples ever. I don't think they know how much I look up to them. I love you Naomi and Hannah! I also have an extremely cool brother in law, Josh. He tried to teach Bek and me how to drive a stick during our break. We were ok... ha ha thanks for attempting.

I miss my little brother, Isaac, so much! He is the coolest guy ever. I love him!!!

I'm very lucky to have a twin. Bek is my best friend and I love her so much. She has helped me get through difficult times. I don't know what I would do without her...

So... I'm really grateful for my family. They all mean the world to me. I love you all!

The Australian Open

January has always been a very tough month to get through. It might be because it is after Christmas break or maybe it's because it's so cold. But there has always been something that has made January at least somewhat likable: The Australian Open. It couldn't come at a better time. It starts sunday and we cannot wait. We love watching tennis on TV but never really get the chance so this is perfect. Hopefully we won't be too busy with homework.

Bring on the tennis and excitement!

I wish we could say that we built this...

Naomi's little puppy, Kingsley. He is so cute!

Christmas break was awesome and so much fun. It included great food, snowboarding for the first time, sledding with Isaac, and a lot of family time. But it is nice to be back into Virginia, and I think classes are going well so far. It is even warm enough to play tennis outside in shorts, which is amazing.

Last night we bought tickets to the tegan and sara concert that is in Richmond next month. We can't wait! Finally, something to look forward to.
